Admission Process:

The admission process for the PGP program comprises two stages.

Weights (PGP)6010101055100

One point to be noted here is that IIM Lucknow has given 60 marks out of 100 marks to the CAT performance of a candidate. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT would go a long way in securing a WAT/PI call from this premier B-school.

Stage 2 - Final selection of candidates

The following are the parameters and their weightages during the WAT/PI stage:

Note: The minimum requirement for getting a pass in Personal Interviews is 12 out of 40 marks. Names of candidates who do not pass in PI will not be included in the final merit list.

To conclude, one important observation about this year's selection process is that the total weightage for parameters which are controllable (CAT, WAT, and PI) in the final selection stage has been kept at a whopping 80%. This ensures that the applicants, who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Lucknow by preparing well for CAT, WAT, and PI rounds.

The admission process for the PGP program comprises the following stages.

  1. Registration of candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria
  2. Shortlisting candidates for the PI round
  3. Final Selection of candidates post PI round

In Stage 1, the minimum eligibility criteria applied to candidates opting for IIM Kozhikode are: only those obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT 2025 will be considered. Candidates with a graduation degree must secure a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks, and those without a graduation degree must obtain at least 50 percent aggregate marks in CA/ICWA/CS. Candidates with 50 percent aggregate marks in CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS and a Graduation Degree must secure a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks in their Graduation Degree.

Apart from the above, initially, a pool of candidates who meet the following minimum CAT 2025 percentiles and SSC/HSC percentages are considered.

All candidates who have opted for IIM Kozhikode and are fulfilling the above-mentioned minimum eligibility criteria would receive an email for online registration for admissions to IIM Kozhikode. Only those candidates who have successfully completed the online registration process for IIM Kozhikode will be considered for Stage 2. Please note that this is a pre-interview registration process and not the call for an interview.

Shortlisting candidates for PI round

The following is the criteria used while shortlisting candidates for the PI round:

ParameterWeightage
CAT Index score45%
X / SSC score25%
12 / HSC score15%
Gender / Academic Diversity10% / 5%
Work Experience5%

The details of each component are given as follows:

  1. CAT Index Score: Scaled scores from the three sections (with equal weightages) of CAT will be considered for the computation of the CAT Index Score. The CAT Index Score will carry a weight of 45%.
  2. SSC/Class X/Equivalent Percentage Score: The percentage of marks obtained in SSC/Class X/Equivalent would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects. The percentage scores are first adjusted and then multiplied by 25.
  3. HSC/Class XII/Equivalent/Diploma Percentage Score: The percentage of marks obtained in HSC/Class XII/Equivalent/Diploma would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects. The percentage scores are adjusted and then multiplied by 15.
  4. Marks are awarded for gender/academic diversity. Only female/transgender candidates are eligible for a gender diversity score of 10. A candidate with a degree in a discipline other than Engineering/Technology will be eligible for an academic diversity score of 5. A candidate is entitled to only one of the diversity scores.
  5. Work Experience Score: Calculated as 5x/36, where x is the number of months of work experience up to 31 December 2025. If x < 6 or x > 36, the score is 0.

Final Selection of candidates post PI round

The short-listed candidates will have to appear for WAT & PI. The panel will evaluate academic efforts, general awareness, attitude, personality, communication, and quality of work experience. The resume score will be based on the quality of academic and professional qualifications.

The following is the criteria used during the final selection stage:

The above performance shall be measured by multiplying the percentage marks scored by the weightage applicable to the discipline, as shown below.

5(five) percent of the score so obtained shall be considered in the overall evaluation. [UG performance score = (percent score at UG * discipline weightage) * 0.05]

To encourage diversity in the batch, differential weightage, as shown below, shall be applied to different disciplines:

  • Engineering / Technology: 0.7
  • Science/Arts / Medicine (including Pharmacy)/Commerce / Economics / Management/other disciplines: 1.0

To conclude, one important observation about this year's selection process is that the total weightage for parameters which are controllable (CAT and PI) in the final selection stage has been kept at a whopping 75%. This ensures that the applicants, who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Trichy by preparing well for CAT and PI rounds.

IIM Raipur’s Admission Committee will decide the PGP programme requirements for the Institute and the final number of candidates who would be called for the PI process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates is found to be less (or more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score, would be reduced (or increased) to get the desired number of candidates.

One point to be noted here is that for shortlisting candidates for PI rounds IIM Raipur is considering only the CAT performance of a candidate. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT would go a long way in securing a PI call from this premier B-school.

*Note: percentage to be calculated for all the subjects that appear in the mark sheet irrespective of the method of calculation by respective board/institutes/universities.

Academic Consistency: Academic consistency weightage is based on the consistency of percentage of marks / SGPA that the candidate obtained during Graduation.

Degree program duration: Candidates with a 4-year degree program at Bachelor/Undergraduate level would be awarded one (1) extra mark.

Personal Profile Mapping: Personal profile mapping seeks to measure a candidate’s fit to IIM Raipur’s PGP program. It is a mandatory component to be completed to be considered to be part of the merit list. After the PI process is completed, candidates would get the invite to complete this component within a certain reasonable duration. It would take around 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete this component. Expected timeline would be around March-April 2024 timeframe.

Work Experience:

* Only relevant work experience after graduation in terms of completed months will be considered. Candidates should ensure that the work experience claimed is authentic and professionally significant enough to deserve credit. For instance, no consideration is given to any time spent as an intern, either during or after the course of study in a program, or any periods of apprenticeship such as articleship required as part of certain professional courses, or any unpaid work undertaken in any organization or institution.

The work experience will be verified based on the relevant documents (including experience certificate, appointment or relieving letter, first and last month’s pay slips, bank statement etc), which needs to be mandatorily produced by the candidate at the time of PI and subsequent admission-related processes. Note that the work experience certificate should be furnished on a letterhead of the employer organization, should carry a seal of the employer, and be duly affirmed by the authorized signatory.

Presentation of employment claims that are not in conformity with the requirements above is liable to be considered incomplete and disregarded by IIM Raipur at its sole discretion. Further, IIM Raipur is at liberty to verify any or all of the employment-related claims made by the candidate. Upon such verification, if it is found that some or all of the claims made are factually untrue, such candidate may be disqualified from being considered for admission to IIM Raipur. After a candidate joins the PGP at IIM Raipur, if it comes to the institute's notice reliably that the candidate had made claims that cannot be substantiated as factual and correct, the candidate is liable to be expelled from the program forthwith. In the event of such expulsion, the candidate will forfeit any fees paid until such expulsion.

To conclude, one important observation about this year's selection process is that the total weightage for parameters which are controllable (CAT and PI) in the final selection stage has been kept at 68%. This ensures that the applicants who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Raipur by preparing well for CAT and PI rounds.

Admission Process:

The admission process for the PGP program comprises the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI rounds
  2. Final Selection of candidates

During the first stage, there will be a cut-off percentile, in the three sections and the total CAT percentile, for shortlisting to PI process across different categories of students. The percentile cut-off will be decided after the CAT 2025 result. IIM Bodh Gaya's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who will be called for the PI process based on criteria prepared for each category.

The 9 IIMs (IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Udaipur) have decided to adopt a common admission process (CAP 2024 process) of PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Kashipur. In addition to the common process as mentioned, IIM Bodh Gaya may conduct a supplementary admission process (SAP 2024). The performance of the candidate in PI of CAP 2024 and SAP 2024 would be considered for preparing the merit list.

Note: Above mentioned are the minimum eligibility criteria and do not imply entitlement. However, the criterion is subject to revision at any point of time depending upon the requirements. The criteria w.r.t. individual sectional percentile and the overall percentile may be lowered/relaxed, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates are found to be less than the required number of candidates to be called for PI in one or more categories. The relaxation, if any, in the cut-off criteria shall be to ensure sufficient number of candidates for each of the categories for PI process. The participating IIMs/Admission Committee at IIM Sirmaur reserve the right to have a higher/lower cut-off than those mentioned above.

Among the pool of candidates who meet the above-mentioned percentiles, a list of candidates would be called for attending Personal Interview depending on their performance in CAT.

One point to be noted here is that for shortlisting candidates for PI rounds IIM Sirmaur is considering only the CAT performance of a candidate. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT would go a long way in securing a PI call from this premier B-school.

The admission process comprises the following stages:
  1. Generating an initial shortlist of candidates who meet the min CAT percentile requirement
  2. Shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI rounds
  3. Final Selection of candidates

The first shortlist of candidates is based on candidates securing minimum section-wise and aggregate percentile scores in the CAT.

*These cut-offs are not for admission offers, but only for Phase 1 shortlist. The cut-offs for admission offer could be much higher.

1.) The first shortlist of candidates is based on candidates securing minimum section-wise and aggregate percentile scores in the CAT 2025. Candidates obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT 2025 will only be considered. The percentile cut-off scores used for CAT 2025 are shown in Table above.

2.) All candidates in the first shortlist (i.e. those who have selected IIM Visakhapatnam as one of their preferences in the CAT 2025 Registration form and also meet the minimum CAT 2025 percentile requirements given in Table-1 above) would be receiving an email from IIM Visakhapatnam by the third week of January 2025, with a link to a web page where they MUST apply for admission to PGP 2025-27 at IIM Visakhapatnam, by a stipulated date and time by filling a detailed online application form, which will be used for the purpose of Personal Interview to the shortlisted candidates.

3.) All Phase-1 Shortlisted Candidates will be invited to submit a detailed online application as stated above. The application form includes a Statement of Purpose, details of semester wise / year wise marks in bachelor’s degree, copies of all academic transcripts and certificates, copies of work experience certificates (if applicable), certificate of disability (if applicable), Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) / other backward class – non-creamy layer (NC-OBC) certificate (if applicable).

4.) In the Phase-1 online application form, candidate information from CAT will be pre-filled. Candidate can modify certain details (except Category), if required.

5.) Only those Phase-1 Shortlisted Candidates, who have submitted the detailed Online application (including all the required documents) by the due date, will be considered for the next phase of Admissions Process as described below.

6.) All the Phase-1 shortlisted candidates, who have applied for admission to IIMV by filling the detailed online application (hereinafter referred as Qualified Confirmed Candidates) by the stipulated date, will be considered in Phase-2 of the admission process.

7.) In order to prepare the Phase-2 shortlist, the candidates percentage scores in the 10th and 12th Board exams are initially adjusted by dividing each such score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that Board. The database of 10th and 12th scores of all CAT applicants of the past two years is used for identifying the 90th percentile score for each 10th and 12th Board, for this purpose.

8.) For all Qualified Confirmed Candidates, final scores obtained by the candidates are used for the bachelor’s degree and professional degrees (if any). Incomplete or intermediate scores are considered only if the candidate’s final score is pending. Thus, for final year bachelor’s degree candidates (at the time of CAT 2025 registration), their incomplete graduation score would be taken in lieu of final graduation score. The Graduation scores are adjusted within their respective streams. This gives the adjusted score for the bachelor’s degree for all Qualified Confirmed Candidates.

9.) For all Qualified Confirmed Candidates, with Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost Accounting (ICWA), and Company Secretaryship (CS), Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) certifications are eligible for weight under ‘professional course’. No other professional course is eligible for weight under ‘professional course’. The ‘professional course’ score is also standardized for all Qualified Confirmed Candidates.

10.) For all Qualified Confirmed Candidates, the score/weight for work experience is calculated as:

Score for Work Experience = 5x/12, if x < 12 = 10, if 12 ≤ x ≤ 36 = 10 - 0.625(x - 36), if 36 < x ≤ 48 = 2.5 if x > 48

Where 'x' is the months of work experience up to December 31, 2025, as captured in the IIMV PGP application form.

11.) For all qualified confirmed candidates, the maximum score between the work experience score and the 'professional course' score is considered for selection under the common parameter of work experience, as both provide professional work experience relevant to a management program.

Among the pool of candidates who meet the above-mentioned percentiles, a list of candidates who would be called for attending the Personal Interview round is generated using the following parameters.

ParameterMaximum Score
CAT QA18
CAT DI & LR14
CAT VA & RC18
SSC Marks10
12 Marks10
Graduation Marks10
Work Ex10
Gender Diversity10
Total100

The score/weight for work experience is calculated as:

Score for Work Experience = 5x/12, if x < 12 = 10, if 12 ≤ x ≤ 36 = 10 - 0.625(x - 36), if 36 < x ≤ 48 = 2.5 if x > 48 where x is the months of work experience up to July 2021, as captured in CAT application form (and substantiated in the application to IIMV).

Note - The maximum of the work experience score and the ‘professional course score is considered for selection under a common parameter of work experience since both provide professional work experience relevant to a management program.

The final selection of the candidate will be based on the performance in CAT 2025, and the scores in the parameters mentioned above, as well as the performance in the Personal Interview (PI) round.

The admission process for the PGP program comprises the following stages:
  1. Shortlisting candidates for PI round.
  2. Final Selection of candidates post PI round

During the first stage, initially, a pool of candidates who satisfy the following minimum CAT percentiles are considered.

The final aggregate composite score for each candidate is calculated based on the following formula:

Aggregate Score = 0.6 X Pre-PI Score + 0.4 X Post-PI Score

Note - The final ranking list of candidates for admission to the MBA 2025 program will be based on the aggregate score mentioned in point above. The final offers of admission to candidates selected from each category will be made strictly on the basis of the final rank based on the aggregate score calculated as outlined in point above.

*The cut-off can be higher/lower than the tabulated numbers after the declaration of CAT 2022 result.

IIM Jammu's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for the Personal Interview (PI) process based on criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.

* In case of female candidates under the general category, the overall cut-off percentile marks for eligibility for Personal Interview (PI) process is greater or equal to 85 with sectional cut-offs of 75 percentile. However, getting an overall CAT percentile of greater or equal to 85 does not automatically guarantee a call for Personal Interview (PI) process. Within this pool of eligible candidates, the final list of candidates to be called for Personal Interview (PI) process will be decided strictly based on order of merit and as per the requirements of IIM Jammu.

One point to be noted here is that for shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI rounds IIM Trichy is considering only the CAT performance of a candidate. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT would go a long way in securing a WATGD//PI call from this premier B-school.
